What is Ben's Board Balm made of?
Ben's Board Balm is made from food-safe, natural ingredients designed to nourish and protect wood. Our Original formula is a mineral oil base, with a blend of organic waxes including beeswax. Our Vegan formula is a coconut oil base and a beeswax free blend. Both are safe for use on surfaces that come into contact with food.
Is Ben's Board Balm food-safe?
Yes! Both our Original and Vegan balms are completely food-safe and free from harmful chemicals.
What is the difference between Original and Vegan?
Our Original Balm contains beeswax and a mineral oil base, while our Vegan Balm uses a plant-based alternative wax blend and a coconut oil base. Both provide the same great protection for your wood.
Using the Balm
How often should I apply the balm?
We recommend applying once a month, or whenever your board starts to look dry or dull.
Can I use it on other wooden items?
Absolutely! Ben's Board Balm works great on cutting boards, butcher blocks, wooden utensils, salad bowls, and more.
